Sony Electronics Inc. has recalled some VAIO TZ-series Notebook Computers because irregularly positioned wires near the computer’s hinge and/or a dislodged screw inside the hinge can cause a short circuit and overheating which poses a burn hazard.
The recall affects the following series: VAIO VGN-TZ100, VGN-TZ200, VGN-TZ300, and VGN-TZ2000. Not all units are affected.
Contact Sony eSupport to find out if your notebook is recalled and arrange for an inspection and repair.
The CPSC (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) web site contains the complete recall notice which includes a product image.
